Natural Stone Restored: Marble
Concern:
- Marble is essentially porous, soft and prone to damage. During the course of its formation, impurities penetrate the marble which manifests over a period of time.
- Concerns started developing like the opening of joints, grouts, chipping, crumbling, detachment, efflorescence, erosion, picture framing, staining, rising dampness and weathering.
Solutions Offered:
- Repaired cracks, open joints & damaged veins in the marble.
- Grinded the marble surface with designated diamond grit to make it even.
- Used fillers to fill in cracks, joints, and pits.
- The colour of the filling was carefully matched to the stone.
- The marble was again grinded with a different grit of diamond pads to even the surface.
- The process of restoration was completed with the polishing of the surface.
